Food allergies such as dairy, yeast, sugar or gluten are very common and can cause eczema symptoms. Very often allergies are a results of certain ingredients or preservatives in food. You may have an allergy if you get an eczema flair-up within twenty-four hours after eating a certain food. The only guaranteed way to find out if you are suffering from a food allergy is getting tested.
Keep a record or diary of all the food you eat to see which foods cause eczema symptoms such as itching and redness to get worse. If you think a certain food is causing your symptoms than stop eating it for a while to see if your eczema symptoms improve or go away. Try eating the suspect food in about 1 month to see if your symptoms come back or worsen.
